CENTRE 404 HAS BEEN A LIFELINE: PAULA
“The support from Centre 404 has been a lifeline to getting what Manasseh is entitled to. They help me with the challenges of the bureaucracy and how to see my way through. As a refuge for people who have children with disability, Centre 404 helped enlighten me with information about coping. I can always ask and they can explain things and reassure me. Coming to groups helps me feel less isolated and I am able to get out and meet people. Centre 404 helped me, my son, my sanity!”
Paula is a single mother caring for her son Manasseh who has a diagnosis of Angelman Syndrome.
Paula was receiving support from Social Services and was then referred to Centre 404 for a Carer’s Assessment. We also supported her with applications fo r Disability Living Allowance, a Blue Badge, Housing and a Personal Budget. Manasseh has now received a Personal Budget which provides funds to assist Paula with caring for him and to fund her regular respite. Paula has since attended Centre 404 groups such as Talking Shop and Friday Matters.
