Supporting High and Complex Needs

vicky

We provide support to two women with high and complex health needs in one of our supported living projects. This innovative supported living scheme was the first of its kind in the country for people with high needs.

The team are constantly looking at how to increase the involvement of these service users, and how we can improve their quality of life further. A real success story of this has been the development of a newsletter which is sent out to family members and advocates keeping everyone up to date and involved.

The tenants at this service were also visited this year by Sue Carmichael, the Valuing People Lead for People with Complex needs in the Department of Health. Sue was very impressed with the way that the tenants were supported and plans to cite this service as ‘a centre of excellence and good practice’.

‘It was nice to know that she enjoyed the Tate Modern and was interested in the things around her, especially as this was a new experience for her. I would like to thank everyone for acting so quickly when Lisa became unwell, please pass on my thanks.'

Paulin Davis, Lisa's mother
