Work with families of young people and adults with a learning disability

lillie and annette

Our Transition and Adult Services are for those caring for young people and adults

For carers of a young person aged 16 and over with a learning disability, we offer information, advocacy and support with the issues they face. These may be around social services, further education, health matters, welfare benefits or other issues that affect families. We also offer support with carers’ assessments, personal budgets, assisted questionnaires and support planning to those caring for a young person with any disability.

For carers of adults with a learning disability, we provide information, advocacy and support for a wide range of issues – from advice on benefits through to accessing statutory services. We enable carers to be involved in decision making and can support carers through person-centred planning. We also undertake outreach work with older carers, visiting them in their homes and organising outings and activities with transport provided.

This work is funded by the Big Lottery, Islington and Camden Councils. For more information on all our work for carers of young people and adults please call us on 020 7697 1336/1337
